I came to Joanna at a time in my life when I felt I had absolutely no horizons to regain and there really was no point in trying to look for them. I had had a decade or more of life changing events. My son, my only child, had left the family home, my aged parents whom I had cared for and nursed for about 10 years had both died within a year of each other, and I had been forced to retire from a job which I loved on health grounds. In addition my husband retired. To compensate for some of these changes, I embarked on a university degree course and although I was enjoying the learning process and the social side of things at university, I was having difficulty in coping with the stresses of essay deadlines, etc. All of these things had combined to erode what little self-confidence I had.
However, Joanna has helped me to turn this situation around in a relatively short space of time. With her guidance I have assessed my values which I have used as a most valuable tool in empowering me in making decisions and taking actions which are right for ME — something which I had lost in the years of caring for everyone else. I have now managed to plan and manage my time to encompass all aspects of my life — home, friends, husband, university and for myself — and through all of this I have re-discovered things which I enjoyed and some new things too.
Joanna has also helped me tremendously in dealing with my ‘university stresses’. With her guidance and support, I have now developed the tools in the form of affirmations and creative visualisation which are helping me to tackle the workload for university, preparing for essays and presentations.
I really cannot praise Joanna highly enough. Her calm manner, client-centred approach are, in my book, second to none and for me have certainly broken down any age barriers which I felt have blocked me on previous occasions from making positive changes to my life. I certainly have regained horizons which I thought were lost forever and, indeed, I feel that horizons for the future are now much broader. I would, therefore, recommend Life Coaching to anyone, no matter what stage in life they are at, as a very valuable tool to reassessing the very complex lives we all lead.

I would fully recommend anyone to work on reassessing their life decisions and rediscovering their life goals with Joanna. Whilst I didn't feel the need to make any major changes in my life, Joanna helped me understand what was important to me and helped me develop a strategy to achieve my potential. As a result, I have made changes in my life which, albeit relatively minor, have had a huge impact on helping me gain a clearer focus. In particular, my health has improved as a result of taking up regular gym training and yoga, together with improving my diet. Joanna has also helped me focus on my finances — in particular, my mortgage. I now have a strategy in place to pay it off way before I thought I would, prior to starting coaching with Joanna. Joanna has also helped enormously with talking through work-related issues relating to the performance management of colleagues. Joanna gave me the confidence to deal with these issues in a straightforward, yet compassionate manner, resulting in a positive outcome for all concerned. I have no hesitation in endorsing Joanna's life coaching skills.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Joanna and Horizons Regained. I received regular coaching sessions with Joanna over a period of three months. There were so many reasons that I decided to seek out life coaching — there were many areas of my life that needed attention — work and work life balance is an obvious one — I wanted to make sure my current career was on track but was also wanting to make a career change, in to an area of interest for years. Until coaching I had not properly addressed this at all. The sessions really made me understand my values, which is incredible because our values are so vital but I had never really given any thought to them at all. Now I always check that any new project is right for me and is in tune with my core priorities. Of course wanting to make changes in your life and actually making changes are so very different. I found that verbalising what I wanted and making an action plan with Joanna made it very easy to achieve all the things that I had previously found quite difficult. I was almost fearful of success and that was another thing that Joanna helped me with. In fact she helped me confront all the things that were holding me back, in many areas of my life including health, family relationships and how I spend my free time. I found the sessions with Joanna mentally invigorating and refreshing and felt so positive after one, eagerly looking forward to implementing the plan we had created for the week and to the next session. Since life coaching with Joanna, I have learned strategies to help me feel more positive in my current work, started a psychology degree, and have more fulfilling relationships with my family and friends. As a direct result of the work we did together on my priorities regarding health and wellbeing, I have lost 2 stone in weight and have a healthier approach to my image and fitness. Life Coaching with Joanna has truly been a life changing experience for me.
